That’s how one camper described his summer in CDG!. Torrential downpours couldn’t stop campers from having fun last Sunday, as they enjoyed divisional dodgeball, matball and lineup competitions. That led right into CDG Olympics on Monday and Tuesday, which were out of this world. Campers and staff were divided into four teams: Columbia, yellow; South Africa, green; Ireland, orange; France, blue. The numerous competitions included swim races, matball madness, 4-way dodgeball, home run derby and best athlete competition.
On day two, Grit-N-Wit set up shop at camp and teams had to work together to overcome numerous running and climbing challenges and put puzzles together. Each team’s staff presented their team anthems to the amusement of the campers who cheered them along. Finally, medals were given out for individual winners of the various competitions. Congratulations to France on their Olympic win—but congrats to all teams for having a blast.
Campers also enjoyed a trip to Camelbeach water park this week. The slides and rides were amazing outdoor fun—the lazy river, wave pool, vortex and wave rider, to name some highlights.
Chevra campers held a chanukas habayis for their new beis medrash near the entrance of camp, with a memorable meal and beautiful singing. Rav Aharon Hirsch, son of the esteemed Slobodka Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch joined the beautiful celebration of a new place of Torah learning.
Malchus Supreme hit the road this week for an incredible four-day trip to the midwest and Niagara Falls, while Ya’alozu campers enjoyed rafting, hiking and cave exploration.
