Celebrating Yom Yerushalayim in the City of Gold

An alternate prayer was arranged outside of the entrance to the Temple Mount, led by Rabbi Yehuda Glick. Rabbi Glick, an outspoken acitivist in favor of equal prayer rights for all religions on the disputed site, was shot four times in the chest by an Anti-Jewish activist in December, and has since made a miraculous recovery. The prayer was organized as a thanksgiving for Rabbi Glick’s journey, and in the hope that, in the future, they will be able to celebrate Yom Yerushalayim properly on the Temple Mount. While those joining Glick did not number the same as those next door at the Western Wall, nearly all who joined agreed that hearing a true Jerusalem hero sing the Hallel praise and thanksgiving to God on Yom Yerushalayim, made it one of the most meaningful prayers they had ever experienced.
