Englewood—Charlie Harary, a longtime friend and supporter of OHEL, made his first ever appearance in Englewood, New Jersey, to share the important work that OHEL does in the community. This was the second annual OHEL awareness Shabbos held in Engelwood.
Charlie spoke four different times over the weekend. At each session Charlie electrified the audience with his powerful words and important messages. The subject of his two primary speeches were:“What Makes a Great Jewish Leader?” and “Who are We and What Are We Fighting For?”
Rabbi Shmuel Goldin, the rabbi of Congregation Ahavath Torah introduced Harary in his morning speech as “the newest sensation in the Jewish world.” Harary’s words moved many to tears, and he received a standing ovation. Eddie Dauber, Chair of the Adult Education Committee, said in introducing Charlie later at his afternoon lecture, “Rabbi Goldin may have introduced Charlie as the newest sensation, and now we know he’s truly sensational.”
Rabbi Goldin thanked OHEL for the great value that the acclaimed social service agency brings to the Jewish community at large, and in particular to the Englewood area. He noted that OHEL operates a Family Health Center in Teaneck.
Shloime Dachs, OHEL board member and well-known musician, helped set the mood of Shabbos with his beautiful voice as he led all the tefillot.
