(Courtesy of CBY) Congregation Bnai Yeshurun was blessed to have a very full Elul, thanks to the Gardin-Mermelstein Chodesh of Inspiration. Over the course of the month hundreds of people came to CBY to hear from such illuminating guest speakers as Sara Yoheved Rigler (in partnership with BNOT and the Sisterhood of Beth Abraham), Chaver Knesset Matan Kahana, Rabbanit Noa Lewis, and Sivan Rahav-Meir, as well as CBY’s own Associate Rebbetzin Michal Zahtz. An Elul kumzitz featuring Simcha Leiner, accompanied by Dov Katz, drew attendees from around the community eager to prepare for the Yamim Noraim through song.

Running throughout the month was a four-part shiur series by the CBY rabbanim, Rabbis Elliot Schrier, Ari Zahtz, Yehoshua Szafranski and Yitzy Kopstick, “Exploring the Rosh Hashanah Musaf.” The Gardin-Mermelstein Chodesh of Inspiration is generously sponsored by CBY members Stacey and Dr. Julius Gardin to honor the memories of their parents: Rav Abraham ben HaRav Mordechai Gardin, Toiba bat HaRav Yehudah Garden, Meir ben Shlomo Mermelstein, and Leah bat Zechariah Treiber, z”l.
