Congregation Keter Torah to Welcome Shera Dubitsky for ‘Pink Shabbat’

Congregation Keter Torah will welcome Scholar-in-Residence Shera Dubitsky, MEd, MA, psychotherapist, counselor and popular lecturer, on Shabbat, December 2, at 9 a.m. Dubitsky will speak about “Empathy: Standing in Someone Else’s Shoes” as part of Sharsheret’s Pink Shabbat, inspired by Rochelle Shoretz, z”l. A special Pink Kiddush will follow services. All are encouraged to dress in pink clothing.

Shera Dubitsky holds master’s degrees in clinical, counseling and educational psychology from Columbia University, and has completed her clinical training towards a doctoral degree in clinical psychology. She is a psychotherapist with 20 years of experience working with children and families experiencing trauma. Shera has served as a consultant to schools and professionals addressing the needs of children. She was the clinical supervisor and director, navigation support services, at Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization supporting young Jewish women facing breast cancer. In this role, she spoke with women and families facing breast and ovarian cancer, and those individuals with an elevated risk of a cancer diagnosis. Shera has specific expertise in counseling women living with advanced breast and ovarian cancer. She has a love of humor and integrates her expertise with her comedic style.

Shera resides with her family in Teaneck.
