Rabbi Yisrael Isser Zvi Herczeg

Congregation Ohav Emeth in Highland Park invites community members to a scholar-in-residence weekend with Rabbi Yisrael Herczeg this weekend, Shabbat and Sunday, Aug. 12-13.

Herczeg is one of the world’s best-selling Torah authors, including 19 volumes of Torah literature. He is best known for his translation of ArtScroll’s Sapirstein Rashi. His most recent book is “Darchei Rashi,” an analysis of Rashi’s methodology in his commentaries to Tanach and the Talmud, published by Mossad HaRav Kook.

The rabbi is also the author of “Sefer Keren David on Tractates Arachin, Nazir, and Makkos,” “Mareh Rachel on Rashi to Mishlei,” and other works of Torah scholarship. He has lectured in many congregations and institutions of Jewish learning throughout the United States and Canada and has taught Rashi in yeshivas, seminaries and in other settings for nearly 40 years.
