We would like to raise a concern we have regarding last week’s Jewish Link (June 10, 2021).
On page 47 there was a full-page ad that stated: “Want to fly to Israel? You need to be vaccinated.”
We would like to bring attention to readers that this statement is untrue. Most people will see this ad and assume that it must be true, but it is not the truth. First-degree relatives (parents, siblings and children) of Israeli citizens may request permission to enter (along with their spouse and children) and visit their relatives in Israel. The applicant can either provide a vaccination certificate OR documentation of recovery. The following is a direct quote from chaimvchessed.com, which outlines the Israel entry requirements: “Documentation of recovery or vaccination certificate for all applicants, including children from the age of six. Proof of Recovery: Present a positive Covid test followed by a negative Covid test. It does not matter how long ago or how much time elapsed between the tests. Alternatively, submit a formal letter on official letterhead of hospital/medical center signed by a Dr., attesting that the traveler had Covid and is now recovered from Covid.” As outlined by chaimvchessed.com, you in fact do not need to be vaccinated to go to Israel.
