Dine and Donate on Tuesday, October 27!

This Tuesday, October 27, please go out for lunch or dinner to make a difference in a family’s life and take a stand against domestic violence! Ten local restaurants have joined together to support Project S.A.R.A.H (Stop.Abusive.Relationships.At.Home.), and will donate 10 percent of their proceeds to the charity, which does so much to help families in our community. Please make a special effort to mention Project S.A.R.A.H when dining.

In Teaneck, participating restaurants are Estihana, ETC Steakhouse, Gotham Burger, Mocha Bleu, NoBo Wine & Grill, Schnitzel Plus, Smokey Joe’s, and the Teaneck Doghouse. In Fair Lawn, go to Benny’s Kosher Pizza or in Elizabeth, to Jerusalem Pizza. Or, if you live in Passaic, eat at Jerusalem Pizza and Falafel and King of Delancey Family Restaurant.

Project S.A.R.A.H., which works within the entire state of New Jersey, operates out of the Jewish Family Service of Passaic/Clifton, and provides a Jewish crisis response for women and families in abusive relationships. The organization works to address domestic violence with three pillars: community outreach, direct services and prevention. Because of Project S.A.R.A.H., every women’s shelters in the state of New Jersey has a kosher kit available at any time, which will provide enough non-perishable kosher food (and Shabbos observance materials) for 24-48 hours for a woman and three children until she can be reached by staff with fresh food and additional assistance.

For more information or to hear about the work Project S.A.R.A.H does to help families in crisis, please call 973-777-7638 ext. 154.
