Discover the Power of Personal Training With Miriam Levitansky

Miriam Levitansky

If you’re looking for an excellent fitness trainer, look no farther than Miriam Levitansky. As a seasoned personal trainer, she understands the transformative power of exercise and has been helping people of all ages and levels for more than a decade become their best selves.

Levitansky’s journey started like many others, with a desire to lose weight and lead a healthier lifestyle. Frustrated by yo yo dieting and quick fixes that yielded temporary results at best, she decided it was time to join the gym. To her surprise, she noticed the people around her who were meeting their fitness goals weren’t using the treadmill or the elliptical machines, so she consulted with a personal trainer who advised her to focus on lifting weights. After six weeks of strength training, she was hooked. “My entire body had changed and so did my outlook,” Levitansky said. Motivated by her personal success and newfound passion, she decided to pursue a career as a personal trainer.

Today Levitansky trains clients in a private state-of-the-art studio in Teaneck. Prior to opening her own space, she was the fitness director at Retro Fitness in Fort Lee. “I could go on for hours about the science and biomechanics behind what I do,” she said, adding that she loves to help people improve their quality of life through exercise. They say an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and Levitansky believes that investing in personal training now, even just one hour a week, will certainly pay off in the long run.

Levitansky prioritizes health and wellness, and believes it’s not about being thin, it’s about feeling good from the inside out. Her training philosophy is rooted in strength and functional fitness, which works towards building a strong foundation that not only improves physical appearance, but also enhances daily activities and reduces the risk of injuries. “Working smarter, not harder, is the way to go.”

Most people have a misconception that cardio fitness is achieved by running or walking very fast, she said, but when done correctly, strength training works your muscles and elevates your heart rate at the same time, so you experience the benefits of a cardio workout while building endurance. With the right moves, Levitansky says you can burn 500 calories a session and your body will continue burning calories even after you leave the gym.

Levitansky understands that each client’s needs are unique. “One size does not fit all,” she said, which is why a personal trainer who customizes your workouts is so important. Anyone can go to a group class or follow a YouTube video, she observed, but if you aren’t trained in specific technique, chances are you’re doing something without proper form that won’t amount to much and could even lead to potential injury. Whether you’re an experienced athlete or a complete beginner, Levitansky will personalize a program to progress at your own pace. Change doesn’t happen overnight, she said, and reminds clients that real results come from consistent effort, dedication and accountability.

To her clients, Levitansky is more than someone who teaches them how to exercise. She assumes the role of a supportive cheerleader, offering encouragement, motivation and positivity. “When you work out with me you get a friend, a confidant and even a therapist,” she joked. She also promotes long-term health by helping clients develop sustainable lifestyle changes which include the know-how to exercise independently. The moment when it all clicks is very gratifying for Miriam, knowing she has given her clients the ability to take care of their bodies with or without her.

Levitansky’s clients rave about her personalized approach, noting not only physical transformations but also newfound confidence, energy, and a positive attitude to life.

Tsipy Weiss from Teaneck has been training with Levitansky for the last three years and said she has noticed significant changes in her body and her strength. “Miriam is a super-skilled trainer and dedicated to her client’s fitness goals as well as being incredibly flexible to my changing schedule. Most importantly for me, she makes training fun and entertaining. With stories, humor, and an overall fun-loving demeanor, she keeps me coming back even when it’s often hard to make the time.”

Ruth Hartstein has been training with Levitansky multiple days a week for over three years. “Miriam has revolutionized my fitness,” she said. “At 43, I am in better shape than I was in my 20s. I have more confidence in my strength and endurance, and I have the skills to train on my own as well. Working with her has been a total life-changer for me.”

Levitansky understands that the path to fitness isn’t always easy, but with dedication and the right guidance, it’s doable for anyone willing to take the first step. For more information or to schedule a session, call or text her at 201-468-2002 or on Instagram @luv2lift_24_7.
