Eighteen Seconds to Victory

Frisch Cougars Score Big in JV Hockey Quarterfinals

From the get go it was clear that TABC wanted to avenge their two losses to their Bergen county rivals. TABC came out flying and controlling much of the first period both offensively and defensively. The Frisch Cougars playing in front of a packed house of fans, were forced to step up early on killing a 3-minute power play. As the period wore on, Frisch captain, Benji Feintuch, broke the shutout, putting the Cougars up 1-0. TABC stormed back with a goal of their own, making it 1-1 going into the 2nd. The second and third periods were back and forth; neither team gained the advantage. Both Goalies Freilich (Frisch) and Minsky (TABC) put on a goal-keeping clinic. With 18 seconds left, sophomore standout Maury Bauer put Frisch ahead on a pretty breakaway goal. Frisch killed the 5-on-4 and went on to the win. It was an incredible quarterfinals game between two rivals.
