Another election cycle has drawn to a close and the American people have chosen Donald J. Trump to be the 45th President of the United States. Many voters, of divergent political leanings, have expressed gratitude that the months of campaigning have finally wrapped up. Yet I am grateful for something else, and it’s meaningful to me personally. By nature, campaigns shine the spotlight on individual candidates. However, as any adviser to a victorious candidate knows, a campaign’s success never rests only on a single person but also on the tireless, behind-the-scenes efforts of staff and volunteers.
As a co-chairman of President-elect Trump’s Israel Advisory Committee, I have been incredibly fortunate to draw upon the vast talents of so many people, including my friend and committee co-chairman, David Friedman. I am grateful to David for his time, his insights and his commitment to this cause. I am also deeply appreciative to Jared Kushner for the wisdom and guidance he shared so generously. Finally, I would like to thank the volunteers for their extensive efforts and encouragement throughout this campaign.
I also want to share my gratitude for the singular privilege of having worked for President-elect Trump over the past 20 years. I know from first-hand experience that our nation has chosen a remarkable and brilliant man to lead us. I am deeply gratified by the decision of the millions of Americans who have invested their hopes and aspirations in President-elect Trump; he will not let you down. I also want to express my admiration and deep respect for Don Jr., Ivanka and Eric. I am lucky to have you as colleagues and good friends and I look forward to working with you to grow this incredible company in the years to come.
As President-elect Trump said in his victory speech, this was a very, very hard-fought campaign but now it’s time for America to bind the wounds of division. I am confident that President-elect Trump will earn the trust of all Americans, regardless of whom they supported on Election Day — and, in so doing, bring about much-needed change. President-elect Trump’s goal is to unify our beloved country, and I believe that even those who did not vote for him will come to see that he is the right person to lead us over the next four, and hopefully eight, years.
This has been an amazing ride, made all that much more so because I have been able to share it with the people I care about. At home, at work and among friends, colleagues and neighbors, I have been blessed with strong support, wise counsel and good friendship. To my extraordinary wife, Naomi, and our amazing children, Noah, Julia, Anna, Sophia, Avery and Vera, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Your patience and unwavering support have been indispensable throughout the lengthy campaign season. Your love gave me the strength to work towards this goal each and every day, no matter the obstacles or the stress that were very much a part of this exciting process. Our community, too, has been incredibly supportive, offering wise counsel without intrusiveness. To all of you I say thank you and may God bless you.
In the days and weeks to follow, may we all unite in common purpose to Make America Great Again.
