The annual Etz Chaim Chanukah celebration with the seniors at the Jewish Federation Housing was enjoyed by all. The Chanukah event was organized by the Etz Chaim youth group and sisterhood in conjunction with the staff of the Federation Housing.

The always successful event was led by the inspirational Etz Chaim rabbi, E. Samuel Klibanoff, who led the candle lighting and the sing-along while doing his usual comedy routine. The evening included musical entertainment by Paul Celler, and refreshments. The Etz Chaim youth group served up delicious sufganiyot (jelly donuts) and drinks while spending time with the seniors.

It was inspiring to see the Etz Chaim youth treating everyone with respect and kindness. They realized that on Chanukah, giving is more important than getting. A good time was definitely had by participants and volunteers alike, and both groups look forward to repeating this event next year.
