The children in the early childhood at Stein Yeshiva explored the last two parshiot through a culinary adventure. The delicious aroma of baking challah permeated the air in honor of Parshas Chayei Sarah. The children sifted, measured and mixed the dough; learned about the special mitzvah of hafrashas challah; and braided their own challah.
For Parshas Toldos, the kinderlach peeled and chopped vegetables for lentil soup, crudité platters and apple crisp; and what an amazing job those little hands did! Each kitah had a special job. When the soup was finally ready, all the children got together for a seuda. There were even some special guests. Yaakov and Eisav jumped down from the yeshiva’s parsha board to visit the children and tell their story. This wasn’t just a yummy way to bring the parsha to life, the activities reinforced many important midos that are an integral part of the curriculum at the yeshiva. But, most important of all at this time, were the brochos everyone said together for the zechus of the soldiers and friends in Eretz Yisroel.
