FDU Petrocelli College Names Teanecker Ira Jaskoll Director of FDU-Yeshiva Program

Professor Ira Jaskoll was named Director of the Fairleigh Dickinson University Yeshiva Program. The degree completion program has been in operation for 15 years. It allows yeshiva students to transfer credits from yeshivas and other colleges or universities, while requiring the remainder FDU credits to be filled in residence at the school. Students receive a fully accredited Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies from the Petrocelli College of Continuing Studies. Although classes are only offered to men at this time, there are plans to open a women’s track in the future. Classes are offered off-site in the Orthodox Jewish Center of Teaneck, where local boys yeshiva high school Heichal HaTorah also studies.

Professor Jaskoll has extensive experience in Jewish higher education, having served as the founding associate dean and associate professor of the Sy Syms School of Business of Yeshiva University, where he was instrumental in ascertaining accreditation for the school; the founding dean of the Bramson ORT College; and a faculty member and creator of the sports management courses at Lander College. He also helped create the Ateres Zevulun Institute, the Bnos Yaakov School for Advanced Studies and the MBA program at Naaleh College. Several sports teams consult with Jaskoll on sports marketing. Currently, Jaskoll teaches in the Silberman College of Business at FDU.

Jaskoll, who has semicha from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, is confident that the FDU-Yeshiva programs will continue to grow as more students wish to complete a quality bachelor’s degree as quickly as possible, and continue their graduate and professional studies or pursue employment. The FDU-Yeshiva Program offers an extremely flexible schedule and curriculum while offering a quality higher education.

Presently, FDU-Yeshiva students continue in the extremely popular MS in accounting in Lakewood or Mahwah, New Jersey. Plans are to offer additional joint programs with FDU’s MPA, MBA, and MAS in sports administration degree programs, and to offer the use of career services for job placement. Students may also continue in law school should they desire.
