Last week Gan Aliya kinderlach learned about Asara B’Tevet. They discovered how the Yidden and Kohanim served Hashem directly in the Beit Hamikdash, but a king named Nevuchadnetzar sought to destroy it. On Asara B’Tevet, he surrounded Yerushalayim, marking the beginning of the destruction of the Beit Hamikdash.
To emphasize the importance of being good people and performing Mitzvos, each child received a brick-shaped mitzvah note to record their good deeds. Students are encouraged to use these notes at home and return them to school to continue “building” their Beit Hamikdash together.
The kinderlach have been enthusiastically bringing in an abundance of mitzvah notes, which the morahs read aloud each day. The children then proudly pin their notes onto the large display in the hallway.
Gan Aliya welcomes family members to participate in this beautiful project with the children. If interested, please use https://shorturl.at/yeyJ9 to access a copy of the brick-shaped mitzvah notes.
