Kudos to The Jewish Link for stepping up its advocacy efforts this past week in a big way (Editorial: “Presenting Facts and Logic About the Middle East,” and advocacy feature “Taste of Home Festival Gets a Taste of Online Intimidation,” June 24, 2021). These are not normal times and it shouldn’t be business as usual. Along with pushing back against the haters and bias in social and traditional media whenever possible, I’d like to suggest we contact and thank those who have been vocal supporters. I’m sure the other side is inundating them with disapproval and we need for them to remain strong.
In particular, Congressman Ritchie Torres (ritchietorres.house.gov) and our own Josh Gottheimer (Gottheimer.house.gov/contact) deserve a quick thank you. We all know about Gottheimer’s efforts. As for Torres, the June 10 article in The Link about his NORPAC visit says it all (“Congressman Ritchie Torres Brings Pro-Israel Message to NORPAC New Rochelle”). I’m sure his fellow progressives are not taking kindly to his principled support of Israel and the truth. Please take a minute to thank both of these brave individuals.
