The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Gotham Burger would like to recognize Michal Benloulou as this week’s Sportstar of the week. The 13-year-old will be starting seventh grade at Moriah, a unanimous selection to represent Moriah at the MGBL sponsored YMSSA all-star game and three-point contest on May 3rd. The talented Point guard dazzled the spectators during the game and won the three-point competition.
Michal told the JLNJ that her mom is her role model, but Stephen Curry is her favorite athlete “because he is the best 3-point shooter in the NBA, voted MVP this year, and plays the same positions that I do.” Her pregame meal consists of noodles with melted cheese. Her favorite sports memory was winning the MGBL YMSSA three-point shoot-out in May ‘15. When she is not lighting it up on the court Michal likes to hang out with her friends. According to her the best thing about being a sportstar is “getting recognition for what I love to do.”
