(MGBL) The first game of the seventh and eighth grade semifinals saw the #2 seed Holy Guacamole facing the #3 seed Hawks. Holy Guacamole led throughout the entire game and saw themselves up seven points with a minute and a half left in the game. The Hawks would not give up and were down three points with seconds left when Ami Hochbaum got fouled while attempting a buzzer beater. Hochbaum went on to hit all three foul shots and tied the game with no time left in regulation. In overtime, Holy Guacamole again took a lead and led for the whole period, only to see the Hawks’ Yonah Last hit a buzzer beater 3-pointer to send the game to double overtime. In double OT, Holy Guacamole’s Ilan Bersson gave his team a lead they finally would hold onto and secured their spot in the finals.

Not to be outdone, in the second semifinal game, the #1 seed MLP took on #4 seed Little Giants, and these teams had an equally thrilling game. The game was a back-and-forth affair with both teams trading the lead throughout the game. MLP seemed to pull away with around two minutes left going up by eight points as the Little Giants started to close the gap. With seconds left, the Little Giants’ Avi WIlk hit a 3-pointer to tie the game and send it to overtime.

MLP took the lead again in overtime, but the Little Giants came out of a time out with four seconds left and Eitan Baron hit a buzzer beating layup to tie the game and send this game to double OT also! In the second overtime period, Little Giants’ Akiva Klein scored with 20
