Guide to Fourth of July Fireworks

The Fourth of July is coming up, and everyone knows what that means. Family barbeques, red white and blue decor, days off from work—and fireworks, of course! Here is a regional guide to help you make the most of New Jersey’s broad selection of firework shows. For more information, such as rain dates, check town websites indicated below.

BERGEN COUNTY

Fair Lawn’s fireworks show will start at 7:30 p.m. on June 30 at Memorial Park. There is an admission fee; fairlawn.org.

Hackensack’s celebration will have fireworks at 9:15 p.m. on July 4 at Foschini Park; hackensack.org.

The Paramus 4th of July Celebration begins at 6PM July 3 at the Cliff Gennarelli Sports-Plex next to Westfield Garden State Place.  Fireworks at nightfall.  paramus4thofjuly.com/fireworks-show

Teaneck’s 25th Fourth of July celebration will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 4 at Votee Park; teanecknj.gov.

Tenafly’s fireworks are set for 9 p.m. on July 2 behind Tenafly High School. An Independence Day celebration precedes the fireworks from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Roosevelt Common; tenaflynj.org.

ESSEX COUNTY

Livingston’s Fourth of July Celebration starts at 8:30 a.m. July 4 with a car show at the Memorial Oval on Robert Harp Drive and wraps up at 10 p.m. There will be rides, games, food, prizes, music and a fireworks display; livingstontownship.org.

West Orange’s Independence Day Celebration, featuring a fireworks display, is 6:30 p.m. on July 4 at West Orange High School; westorange.org.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY

East Brunswick’s Fourth of July celebration runs from 4 to 10 p.m. on July 4 at the East Brunswick Community Arts Center, with fireworks at 9:45 p.m.; eastbrunswick.org.

Edison’s Fourth of July Celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. July 4 at Papaianni Park. Fireworks start at 9 p.m.; edisonnj.org.

Highland Park’s Fireworks in the Park featuring Park Stock begins at 5 p.m. on July 3 at Donaldson Park. Fireworks are at 9:20 p.m.; hpboro.com.

PASSAIC COUNTY

Clifton’s Fourth of July celebration is on July 3, starting at noon with a picnic at Memorial Park and continuing at 8:45 p.m. with fireworks for residents ($3) at Clifton High School Stadium; cliftonrec.com.

Passaic’s fireworks are at 9 p.m. on July 3; cityofpassaic.com.

UNION COUNTY

Elizabeth’s fireworks celebration begins 9:15 p.m. on July 4 at Veterans Memorial Waterfront Park; elizabethnj.org.

Union Township’s Fourth of July concert and fireworks will run from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. July 4 at Biertuempfel Park; uniontownship.com.

NEW YORK CITY

The Macy’s fireworks are celebrating their 40th anniversary over the East River; Jersey views are somewhat limited. The show will be broadcast at 8 p.m. July 4 on NBC; social.macys.com/fireworks.
