Hamas Behind Latest Terror Attacks

(JNS) A woman in her 30s was lightly wounded by flying shards of glass when a terrorist fired on her car from a passing vehicle on Highway 57.

The woman’s husband and two children, who were in the car at the time, suffered no injuries.

“When we arrived at the scene, we saw the vehicle with gunshot marks. Inside the car were four passengers: A man, a woman and two children, aged 9 and 6,” said MDA senior medic Yonatan Shenbai.

“Miraculously, only one passenger was hurt. We gave her medical treatment in the field and evacuated her to the hospital,” he added.

This followed an attack on Tuesday, August 1, when a terrorist opened fire with a handgun outside the main shopping mall in the city of Ma’ale Adumim.

A Border Police officer on his day off shot and killed the terrorist.

Magen David Adom emergency medical personnel treated two people for gunshot wounds before evacuating them to the hospital.

Hospitals on Wednesday updated the status of those wounded in the attack. A 40-year-old man is in serious but stable condition at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. He had surgery on Tuesday evening and is currently sedated and ventilated in the intensive care unit. A second person is in moderate but stable condition at the hospital, while another man was released from the medical center on Tuesday evening.

Two of the victims, ages 28 and 14, are in moderate condition at Hadassah University Hospital-Mount Scopus in Jerusalem, where another victim, identified as Moshe Turgeman, age 37, is being treated for minor wounds.

Ma’ale Adumim Mayor Benny Kashriel told the KAN News public broadcaster that the terrorist had an entry permit into Israel and worked as a cleaner in a community center in the city.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant were receiving regular updates on the
incident at IDF Central Command Headquarters in northern Jerusalem.

According to Israel Police Commissioner Yaakov Shabtai, the assailant “opened fire in all directions” before being shot by the Border Police officer, who “prevented a broader terror attack.”

“We unequivocally condemn today’s terrorist attack in Ma’ale Adumim that resulted in injuries to at least five individuals. We are deeply concerned by the rising levels of violence in the West Bank in recent months and condemn all acts of violence,” the State Department’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs said in a post to the X social media platform, formerly known as Twitter.
