Featuring Peter Tilem
On Parshat Vayetze:
Lavan made Yaacov work 7 years for Rachel and then switched the sisters and gave him Leah. Then he made him work another 7 years for Rachel, then another 7 years for some sheep. I am not an employment lawyer but wasn’t anyone enforcing the Fair Labor Standards Act back then?
On making Aliya:
As a Second Amendment lawyer, I will be much happier after Israel gets its own Second Amendment.
On being a criminal defense lawyer:
When someone is facing a prison sentence, you have to work hard, get creative and be better than the other guy; especially when your client is guilty.
On politicians:
Why would someone spend millions of their own money to get a job that pays $150,000?
On Torah and truth:
Without Torah there is no objective understanding of right and wrong, truth and falsehood.
On keeping your mouth shut:
“Better to remain silent and thought the fool than to speak and remove all doubt.”, Abraham Lincoln
How to deal with a ticket when stopped by police:
Take the ticket and KEEP MY NUMBER ON SPEED DIAL! See also, “On Keeping Your Mouth Shut”
On romance:
Is there a better feeling than giving the woman you love flowers? Or sharing a bottle of wine?
