On Monday, February 6, the Heichal HaTorah Torah Bowl team traveled to Washington Heights to take on the MTA, SAR and Ramaz teams. In the opening matchup, Heichal was up against MTA. After an intense back-and-forth competition, in which both teams displayed tremendous bekiyot in the sedros, Heichal emerged with a 12-8 victory. In the next two rounds, Heichal topped SAR and Ramaz by scores of 15-5 and 16-4. Now with three straight victories, Heichal had all the momentum on their side as they headed into their final matchup; a highly anticipated rematch with MTA. Heichal cruised to an early 12-3 lead, but MTA rallied back with six consecutive points. Heichal, however, refused to go down and finished strong to cap a convincing 20-11 victory. The Heichal team hopes to build off of Monday’s impressive 4-0 performance as they head into the playoffs.
