Help! I Can’t Stop Teasing My Siblings!

Dear Shayna B.,

First of all, your column in the Jewish Link is what makes my Shabbat each and every week! My problem is that I started teasing my siblings, and I always feel so bad after! My mom is starting to take away my screen privileges, which deeply upsets me! Please help me!

From,
Teasing Tanya

Dear Teasing Tanya,

You don’t have to worry, but I have to hurry, to give you a good answer. My answer to you is that whenever you feel like teasing your siblings run to your room, pretend that the person you want to insult is there and shout out the insult. It’s better out than in, even if it is mean. If you are away from home you can always write down your insult and wait until you get to the place you want to go to let it out. If it’s indoors go to the bathroom and shout it out (or just say it quietly if someone else is also using it). If you’re in an outdoor place just go to a part of that place that has nobody there and yell it out. In the end, though, your situation is a win-win. You’ll either feel better without hurting your siblings’ feelings or you’ll get to really enjoy Pesach this year with all your screen-free time.

Best of luck and chag sameach,
Shayna B.
