Hersheypark Is Keepin’ It Kosher

(Courtesy of Hersheypark) Changes are happening at The Sweetest Place on Earth! This past season saw the transition of on-site kosher food offerings, as Hersheypark acquired the privately owned Central Pa’s Kosher Mart after over 20 years of dedicated service. While it has been revamped a bit, the core elements—delicious food, quality kashrut supervision, and excellent service—remain the same. Hersheypark is thrilled to re-introduce its guests to the new food truck, Keepin’ It Kosher, and invite you to the Chol Hamoed Sukkot Event.

The Hersheypark team is proud to build upon the Kosher Mart’s years of service to the community. Brent E Wertz, managing director of food and beverage, Hershey Entertainment Complex, who has overseen the major aspects of the transition, is excited for the prospects ahead. “For over two decades, Hersheypark has been honored to couple high-standard kosher options with the amusement park experience. The kosher consumer is our valued guest, and we are committed to providing an environment which will allow you to enjoy time spent with us to the fullest. Our continued partnership with the Star K ensures that there is seamless oversight in the kashrut standards you have relied upon in years past. We look forward to greeting you!”

Keepin’ It Kosher is on trend with the newest wave of food concession platforms—the food truck. Located in the Midway America section of the park, the venue is equipped with an on-board kitchen to deliver on a fresh and delicious menu. Geoff Rosenberg, manager/mashgiach, is often the one to personally welcome customers. He works together with Olivia Haist, concessions operation manager, Hersheypark, who supervises the harmonious operation of Keepin’ It Kosher with the park’s broader concession system. “The kosher eatery transitioned into its new home, in the heart of the park. Keepin’ It Kosher had its debut in the 2019 season, and it has been the wonderful, next chapter in the legacy of delicious food for the Hersheypark guest.” An array of tasty menu options—hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, fries and more—are on offer each day. Camps and large groups are further provided with an expanded catering menu and catering area, available with pre-order. Hersheypark understands that your vacation is complete only with kosher accommodation, and is committed to being your destination of choice with fully kosher options.

But Hersheypark isn’t just about summer—for many years, its private opening on Chol Hamoed Sukkot has been a go-to event for families and groups across the eastern seaboard. This year is no exception. Robert Gordon, director of food and beverage, Hersheypark: “You don’t want to miss the Sukkot Event of the Decade, October 16-17t. Our next event will not be until 2021. It has been a mainstay on the Hersheypark calendar, with overwhelming success. We appreciate our kosher guests who have made us a part of their family’s tradition, year after year.” The event includes an evening preview with entrance to selected rides, and the operation of over 70 rides on the day of the main event. Sukkahs and glatt kosher food are located inside the park, and the Keepin’ It Kosher food truck will be parked outside of the main gates for your convenience before and after park hours. “Look no further for wholesome, family fun this year… visit www.hersheyparksukkot.com to purchase your Sukkot tickets today!”

Hersheypark and Keepin’ It Kosher look forward to serving you upon your next visit to The Sweetest Place on Earth.
