Historic Global Screening Event to Be Held for ‘Who Will Write Our History’

Plans for an historic global screening event are under way for director Roberta Grossman’s latest documentary feature film, “Who Will Write Our History.” The film will screen at hundreds of theaters and special venues worldwide on Sunday, January 27, International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust. Locally, the film will screen at Rutgers University at the Rutgers Cinema, Livingston Campus on Jan. 27. Anchor screening events will be held in Washington, DC at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Los Angeles at the Museum of Tolerance, Auschwitz-Birkenau on the grounds of the Memorial and Museum and UNESCO headquarters in Paris. Over 100 events have already been announced at www.whowillwriteourhistory.com, with hundreds more to come, making it the widest-ever global theatrical screening event for a Holocaust documentary.

Led by historian Emanuel Ringelblum and known by the code name Oyneg Shabes, a clandestine group of journalists, scholars and community leaders in the Warsaw Ghetto vowed to defeat Nazi lies and propaganda not with guns or fists but with pen and paper. Now, for the first time, their story is told in the documentary featuring the voices of three-time Academy Award® nominee Joan Allen and Academy Award® winner Adrien Brody.
