Children are always looking for something fun and crafty to do. I know my grandchildren love creating things that they can use. Here are some really cool recipes you can make with your own kiddies and I know they will love them.
Recipe for Play Dough (Jell-O)
1 cup of flour
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp cream of tartar
2 tbsp cooking oil
1 cup warm water
1 3 oz pack of Jello(or similar )
Directions:
Add all the ingredients together in a big mixing bowl. Mix very well.
Wait for it to thicken into a big ball and then place it on a piece of wax paper to
Cool. Knead it for a few minutes once cooled with some flour
Add any food coloring of your choice!
Enjoy!!!
Homemade Bubbles
When you run out of store-brand bubbles; don’t worry, this is so easy:
12 cups of water
1 cup dishwashing soap
1 cup cornstarch
2 tablespoons baking powder
Put all this into a bowl. Stir. Let sit for one hour before using. Then use a funnel and pour into your old bubble bottle.
I have also made these (so much fun)
Soap Crayons
8 squares of Glycerin Soap (found in craft stores), gel food coloring, Essential Oils
Cut up the squares of soap and melt them in a measuring cup in microwave for 30 seconds and if they are not done, keep doing them in 10 second intervals until melted (do not boil them) You can keep them one color but if you want to make 3 colors, put in 3 separate bowls and add the desired colors and scents carefully. If it does become hard, just put it back in the microwave for 20 seconds. Quickly pour the melted soap mixture into the mold of your choice. You can use ice cube trays, jello molds, or character molds (to make it more fun for the kiddies). Let harden for at least 30 minutes. You can put these in clear cellophane bags, tie with a ribbon and use as a party favor at your next birthday party. The kids will love them.
