Host Your Simcha at Riverview Ballroom

Under the chuppah at Riverview Ballroom.

When Ophir and Violeta Carmel, veterans of the hospitality industry, were looking to expand their business to include a venue for events of all sizes, their search ended with a magnificent facility overlooking the Manhattan skyline and Hudson River. With their expertise in management, and just completed beautiful renovations, Riverview Ballroom has become a sought-after location for simchas, corporate and non-profit organization events and fund-raising dinners. Riverview Ballroom, formerly the Palisadium, can hold up to 700 comfortably, with gorgeous views of New York City and plenty of parking. Conveniently located in Cliffside Park, New Jersey, there are several hotels nearby where Ophir and Violeta have arranged discounted rates for overnight guests of event hosts.

The Carmels are excited to let industry vendors and potential hosts experience Riverview Ballroom and see what they have to offer. Come to a grand opening reception on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. You will be able to envision your own simcha there as you nibble on kosher refreshments, listen to music, and see how beautiful the rooms look when set up. View the sunset and the New York skyline from Riverview’s outside patio.

Riverview Ballroom has large open spaces and more intimate rooms. For weddings, there are suites for the bride and groom, rooms for the bedeken and tisch, and a grand space for dinner and dancing. In nice weather, the outdoor patio is a great spot for the ceremony or shmorg.

Simchas can be challenging to arrange with so many different parts to the event. Party planners are welcome, or select vendors yourself, including your choice of caterer. Ophir and Violeta are happy to make suggestions. You can use their in-house florist and décor specialist, or bring in your own. All events include tables and chairs with linens, even if Riverview has to special order the linens; liquor and wine with standard brands or upgrade to premium; glassware and place settings; attendants for coat check and bathrooms, and bartenders. Valet parking is optional. Riverview can also provide wait staff service on request if not available from your caterer.

Riverview Ballroom offers buffet, family style or sit-down dinner options.

Weddings can stretch a budget, especially if you have a large family and invite many guests. With family style service, you can still have a fabulous multi-course meal but fewer servers are needed which cuts down the cost. It’s a budget friendly way to enjoy all the benefits of Riverview’s beautiful amenities.

Keep your eyes open for info about upcoming entertainment events. The Carmels have lots of ideas including comedy club nights, concerts with Israeli performers and challah bakes. Plans are in the works for an exciting family Purim party. For one price per family, there will be loads of activities and stations for kids, DJ, a sit-down buffet dinner for everyone and a cash bar.
