Hotline Will Help Schools Access Government Funding

Teach Coalition to offer a government funding hotline for yeshivas and Jewish day schools in New York and New Jersey.

(Courtesy of Teach Coalition) Teach Coalition announced the launch of its new “Government Funding Hotline” service available for free to all yeshivas and Jewish day schools in New York and New Jersey. Any government funding inquiries sent into the hotline phone number, email address or webpage will receive a rapid response from Teach Coalition’s expert Government Maximization Services Team.

The Government Funding Hotline can be reached by phone at: 212.613.0611; by email at [email protected]; or online at: https://teachcoalition.org/hotline.

Teach Coalition National Chairman Elliot Gibber said: “Yeshivas and Jewish day schools are facing unprecedented financial stress during the COVID crisis. The Government Funding Hotline will provide an invaluable resource to help every Jewish school access government funding programs.”

This dedicated government funding help line is the next step in achieving the vision of Teach Coalition—a project of the Orthodox Union—to ensure every yeshiva and Jewish day school receives its fair share of government funding.

“For too long, our schools have lost out on free government dollars available to them—for security grants, science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) and school nurses—because government programs are often poorly advertised or overly complicated,” said Maury Litwack, executive director for Teach Coalition. “That ends today.”

All school funding inquiries received via the Hotline will be routed to a subject matter expert on that funding source. All inquiries will receive an initial response within one business day, with follow-up communications, as needed, for more complicated questions.

Common questions that schools can easily ask via the Government Funding Hotline include:

What existing government programs they might be missing out on.

Whether they are eligible for a given program.

How to apply for a given program.

Program deadlines and best practices.

How to answer specific questions or sections on application forms.

“For over four years, Teach Coalition’s Government Maximization Services Team has been building up expertise by helping schools access government programs—including reviewing and filing program applications for our member schools,” said Adam Katz, assistant director of government programs for Teach Coalition. “Now we are inviting all yeshivas and Jewish day schools in both New York and New Jersey to leverage our expertise quickly and easily. All they have to do is call (212) 613-0611 or email
