Dressed in pajamas and armed with their own teddy bears, students at Suburban Torah’s Iris Berman Early Childhood Center set out to discover how animals live during the winter. They had so much fun sitting in their very own “cave” in the Exploration Room and eating pancakes that they had made from scratch. The children rested and read some great books about hibernation while experiencing what it must be like to be a bear in the winter. One day, when a white bear was found in the cave, one of the children realized that polar bears don’t hibernate, and the bear was immediately removed. Whew!
