iCan Teens Meet at Federation

The iCAN Teen Task Force is an elite leadership group preparing teens with knowledge and confidence to tackle anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiment in the world today.

The teens came to the second meeting at the Jewish Federation in Paramus on Wednesday, November 14. There were more than 40 teens in attendance from 15 area high schools—both private Jewish day schools and public schools.

After a dinner of sushi and pizza, the teens discussed current events and the group shared and listened to instances of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias close to home. The highlighted feature of the evening was an interactive workshop by Juliana Moskowitz from The David Project on the topic of “Coalition Building on Campus,” with real-time simulations of how a Jewish organization that advocates for Israel should interact with other campus organization in a way that builds trust, confidence and influence on a diverse college campus.
