IDF Delegation Joins Team Lifeline Warriors In Miami Marathon

(Courtesy of Chai Lifeline) In a show of solidarity and unity between Israel and the Jewish people, a special group of 10 Israeli soldiers will join Team Lifeline at the upcoming Miami Marathon on January 28. Having received special permission to travel to Florida to participate in the run for Chai Lifeline, Team Lifeline participants and donors will not only be showing their support for heroic children dealing with critical illness but also with the people of Israel and the IDF.

For nearly two decades, Team Lifeline has raised critical funds for Chai Lifeline, the international children’s health organization that benefits families coping with serious illness and trauma. Chai Lifeline runners and supporters will convene in Miami for the marathon weekend from cities across North America, and include current and former runners battling illness, family members of sick children, and those running in memory of those who have lost their battles with illness.

“This marathon isn’t just about miles,” said Moshe Turk, director of Team Lifeline. “It’s a symbol of the collective strength and resilience of the Jewish people. Every stride, or push of a wheelchair, builds a bond with our brothers and sisters in Israel and strengthens the spirit of Chai Lifeline families.”

“Over the last few months, hundreds of thousands of Israeli heroes have been fighting a battle on behalf of the people of Israel,” said Rabbi Simcha Scholar, CEO of Chai Lifeline. “We are honored to have a delegation of soldiers proudly running alongside Team Lifeline families to salute the bravery of those dealing with illness and loss. This is the true spirit of unity and achdus for our people during these difficult times.”

Chai Lifeline provides children and families with various programs and services, including case management, counseling, insurance and medical advocacy, financial assistance, meals, transportation to medical appointments, retreats, crisis and trauma interventions, and their renowned summer programs, Camp Simcha, Camp Simcha Special and Camp Simcha Without Borders. All its services are offered to families free of charge.
