The fifth through eighth graders at Moriah had the unbelievable opportunity to hear from para athletes of the Israel Sport Center for the Disabled last week. Each member discussed their own personal journey and athletic training and shared meaningful and inspiring words with the students. Students then had the unique opportunity to see just how challenging it is to play and compete like these athletes, as they tried to shoot hoops while sitting in one of the wheelchairs brought by the center. The middle school is looking forward to their upcoming 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Chanukah, which will raise funds for this important center and will conclude with a special championship student vs. teacher round!
