Israel’s Mi-Ya Technologies Ltd. Makes Custom Designed Diamonds Better and Faster

Original Star of David pendant.

In an original feat of creativity and technology, Israel’s Mi-Ya Technologies has developed a process to make lab grown diamonds faster, better and less expensive than anywhere else. Alon Korach collaborated with expert Israeli engineers and diamond cutters to design and manufacture Miya Diamonds, the highest quality lab grown diamonds and bespoke settings for gorgeous custom jewelry.

Miya Diamonds has just introduced a new easy to navigate website, www.miyadiamond.com,
where you can see their complete collection of customizable designs from anywhere in the world. You can easily design your own jewelry, to your specifications, and it will be ready to ship in just three days to one week.

“Our clients are involved in the models, in every step we do so they get exactly what they want,” said Korach. “We have unique software that can analyze the design before manufacturing and unique tools for polishing and cutting. We work with experts to create the diamond; they understand shapes and how optical light works.”

One of Miya’s most innovative pieces is a Star of David diamond pendant. Miya’s bespoke diamond is shaped like a Star of David and is mounted on a white or yellow gold heart. “The star of David bursts from the heart and symbolizes the hope and eternity of the people of Israel, especially after the heartbreaking tragedy of October 7,” said Korach. The engineers, who are graduates of the country’s defense system, enabled the most stunning light reflections to emanate from the diamond while protecting the Star of David design with a registered global patent. “The special shape of the cut produces an effect of 10 shields of David, that remind us of the 10 sefirot in the Kabbalah,” said Korach. “From the top view there are seven boiler shields and from the bottom view there are three boiler shields.”

Korach’s story is an example of how Israel has become the start-up nation. After military service, where he rose to become an elite officer in Sayeret Matkal, Korach spent a couple of years in the Prime Minister’s office and then ran a variety of businesses. One company produced energy from garbage—“trash to cash.” Korach was determined that his next business would use sophisticated technology and allow him to be more flexible. He wanted to work with a small, dedicated group of friends and colleagues who shared his vision. About fifteen years ago, a Russian professor he knew introduced him to the idea of lab grown diamonds. He gained more knowledge from the Dean of Chemistry at Technion. With his wife’s blessing, Korach founded Mi-Ya Technologies and Miya Diamonds by devoting himself one hundred percent to developing the best production capabilities for lab grown diamonds and the most beautiful jewelry.

Another Star of David design.

“We are a one-stop-shop in that we do everything from A to Z,” said Korach. “We are designing the machines, we are growing the rough stones, polishing them, and making the jewelry. Our quality control is your assurance that everything is correct. Our timeline and costs are much, much faster and cheaper than others because we’re controlling the entire system. That enables us to have the prototype of anything that we want very fast. So if someone comes to me out of nowhere and says ‘I want to do this and that’ we can do it.”

Korach recently got a call from an NFL player who heard about Miya and asked if they could create a football or baseball shaped diamond for him. He said he’d been trying for 10 years and no one could do it. Miya gave him a resounding ‘yes.’

In what sounds like science fiction, Korach said they have developed a process for taking someone’s hair and getting the carbon from that to put inside a machine and make a diamond. He worked with specialists from Technion to develop the process. No one else has anything like it. Korach is always creatively thinking about what’s next for Miya. He has several AI initiatives in the planning stages to further enhance his ability to design and produce exquisite diamonds on demand.
