Today it’s all about the bob and there are many styles from which to choose. Below are some of your choices.

Side Parted Textured Bob. A side part is a great option for those looking to soften their jawline and cheekbones while creating more balance to one’s face. Adding a bit of volume to the hair, either with a drop in the front or all over, including the crown of one’s head, gives one an instant face lift. Textured hair helps draw attention away from the face, helping to soften and distract the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Pops of color, especially when placed to frame one’s face, prevents looking washed out. Variations of this look include the old-time Hollywood bob, with soft ends and flattering curves, adding textured layers throughout the cut to prevent the piece from losing volume and texture, and a mini blunt bob styled with either texture or smooth ends.

Blunt Collarbone Bob and Shaggy Shoulder Cuts. Cuts falling right at the collarbone or shoulder, cut with a blunt sharp edge, or shaggy layers, are both extremely flattering lengths for women of all ages and face shapes. Both cuts can be styled with extra volume and texture if you desire a fuller look, or sleek and smooth for those wanting a sharp finish.

Sleek Straight Bob With Center Part. I can’t begin to tell you how many clients are currently asking for this look. This look works best when using a lace top wig. It is one of the most comfortable styles to wear and maintain. The short length keeps the wig extremely lightweight and cool all summer long. The middle part keeps hair out of one’s face without having to fuss over it or move the hair around. The sleek straight finish is the easiest style to maintain. If you feel that this look is too severe for your face, add a slight texture to the hair for a tousled, perfectly undone look.

Soft A-Line Bob. This bob is cut just slightly longer in the front and helps to elongate and flatter round and oval face shapes. This cut looks best when the length ranges anywhere from the chin to just grazing the shoulder.

Adding any type of bang to any of these cuts will look super stylish. Wispy, blunt or curtain bangs are currently the most popular bangs for women. If you’re hesitant to invest in this look but imagine that it can be fun to try while looking super chic, I suggest trying it out with one of your older wigs. An older wig whose hair has split ends and is scraggly looking might be the perfect wig to transform into this cut. A blunt short cut will remove the split ends while also making the hair appear thicker. If you are using an older non-lace wig, cutting in a cute bang will prevent the wig from looking “wiggy” while making you appear more youthful. Add in pops of color to create a more edgy look and prevent a too mature look.

This season, try to take yourself a bit out of your comfort zone and have fun with your new look. Chag Sameach to all!
