The fifth year of the JEC HS Cooking Club is in full swing. With over 40 high school boys in attendance, they are learning important skills. The club focuses on easy to make, low cost, nicely presented meals. Cooking is completely hands on, the boys make the entire meal from start to finish. All while honing such skills as the proper way to hold a knife and dice vegetables, proper temperature to cook foods, kitchen safety and the importance of cleaning up as you cook. To date, they have made steak fajita cups, various salads, corn dogs, arayas and more. The JEC HS Cooking Club is taught by Amy Leykin.
