JEC HS Students Make Two Siyumim

The two mishnayos a day chevra keeps finishing one masechta after another. This week they celebrated a belated siyum on masechet Makot, which they completed during winter break. They are now halfway through Bava Metzia. Their dedication to this wonderful program is inspiring. “Each siyum I attend I feel blessed to be surrounded by these boys,” said Rabbi Rich. “Celebrating the accomplishment of these amazing and dedicated young men is a real pleasure.” Chicken Poppers, popcorn chicken and fries were served to celebrate this wonderful simcha.

There was an extra special night seder this week as Hershey Kogan, 12th grade, made a siyum on Masechet ביצה. Kogan dedicated each and every night seder towards this goal, which took him less than four months. “I learned that I can do a lot more than I think I can,” said Kogan. After he made the siyum, the 75 night seder attendees erupted into spirited dancing. “I am really proud of my friend Hershey,” said student body president Gidon Hagler. “It was inspiring how he accomplished something this big by taking advantage of his time.” Kogan’s siyum was celebrated with a special shawarma supper.
