JEC Students Practice Hachnasat Orchim

In honor of Parshat Vayera and the mitzvah of Hachnasat Orchim, as well as the theme of the year, the hallways at JEC were filled today with beautiful and inspiring programming! From the youngest class of juniors to eighth graders, students experienced very special inter-grade programming based on the mitzvah of Hachnasat Orchim and the middah of Kavod that JEC is trying to instill in students each and every day. Middle School students were welcomed into the Early Childhood classrooms where they read stories about Shabbos, respect and kindness. Younger elementary students were paired with an older grade to learn about the role that kavod plays in both being a guest and a host in someone’s home. They learned from a special packet together, did projects and ate snacks and drinks. Together this year, everyone is On the Road of Kavod and there is no better way to drive this mission home than to experience what kavod truly means. Eighth graders continued their chessed at the JFS food pantry, where they helped stock the pantry for those in need.
