The Jewish Genealogical Society of New York invites members of the public to their next program featuring Jakub Czupryński, who will speak about lesser-known genealogical and archival resources kept in Poland. The program will be held Sunday, April 10, at 2 p.m. on Zoom.
Answers to some of the most burning family-history questions may lie hidden in these sources. In this lecture, Czupryński will give practical guidelines on how to search for family information not covered in sources such as census or vital records. He will explain how to break through brick walls using resources such as notary and court records and municipal, tax and property documents.
Czupryński is a researcher and tourist guide specializing in the family history of Polish Jews. For almost 15 years he has been carrying out professional genealogical research and organizing heritage tours in Poland. He collaborates with the Jewish Community Centre (JCC) in Kraków as a volunteer genealogist and administrator of a website dedicated to Jews of Kraków and Western Galicia: https://www.krakowjewishheritage.org/. Czupryński currently is working on a database of Kraków ghetto residents.
