Jewish Women’s Health Symposium to Be Held July 8

(Courtesy of JWHS) Leah Marinelli, MS, CNM, RN, NP and Yutta Engel, CM, LM, two local midwives, are very excited to be hosting the first Jewish Women’s Health Symposium, to be held on July 8 at the Atrium Ballroom in Monsey. The symposium will be a comprehensive, educational, day-long affair, encompassing the cycle of a woman’s health from adolescence to menopause and the years beyond. These two experienced midwives, who have practiced midwifery in Rockland County for many years, are expecting a successful event and hope that this will become an annual occurrence.

“When a woman is healthy, a family is happy and the community thrives,” Yutta and Leah said. As providers of maternity services, health care, and education, they have recognized the need for extensive health education for Jewish women, addressing the entire female lifespan.

The Symposium will begin at 9:30 am with a sign-in and light breakfast. The entrance fee will include a strictly kosher healthy lunch and refreshments throughout the day. A wide range of vendor booths will provide information and health screenings, along with giveaways. The event will include talks by respected professionals who are experts in the fields of endocrinology, nutrition, emotional health, physical therapy, osteopathy, radiology, health screening and maternity care. Speakers will include local midwives, medical doctors, nutritionists, and licensed therapists who will be available to answer questions.

We welcome women of all ages and all levels of observance to this first Jewish Women’s Health Symposium in the Monsey area, which is sure to benefit body, mind and soul. For more information, please contact Devoiry Steinberg 917-916-7845 or Leah Tikvah Rosen 845-426-0240.
