JFCS NNJ to Hold Inaugural Gala

(Courtesy of JFCS NNJ) Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey will be holding its Inaugural Gala on Sunday, December 3, at Edgewood Country Club in Rivervale, New Jersey. This festive evening, themed “Honoring Our Past as We Celebrate the Future,” pays tribute to several outstanding honorees.

Elaine Adler, along with her late husband, Mike, has been a supporter of Jewish Family Service for many years. Her generosity, not only to our agency, but to institutions and organizations in the greater community, is remarkable. Her work in the creation of the Adler Aphasia Center has literally changed the playing field in working with individuals whose speech was lost after stroke or brain injury. Elaine truly understands that philanthropy affects change in our world.

Her son, Jim Adler, and his wife, Dana Post-Adler, have taken this value of philanthropy to heart, and are well-deserved honorees in their own rights. Through their leadership in Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey, as well as countless other local organizations, Dana and Jim’s generosity is paled only by their active involvement. We are proud to consider them part of the JFCS family.

Allyn Michaelson, past president of JFS of North Jersey, sat at the helm of the agency as JFSNJ and JFS of Bergen and North Hudson combined to create Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey. Also an active leader in JFNNJ as well as Temple Beth Sholom of Fair Lawn, her dedication and generosity is truly worthy of this honor. We celebrate her as we celebrate the history of the agencies at this Inaugural Gala.

Lastly, Stop & Shop Corporation has become a true friend to JFCS. The company’s commitment to giving back to the community is outstanding. JFCS has been the proud recipient not only of their generous financial support, but of thousands of pounds of food from Stop & Shop for our food pantry.

We thank you in advance for sharing our vision by supporting this wonderful event. For information and tickets, please visit www.jfcsnnj.org or call Jaymie at 201-837-9090 ext. 212.
