JFCS Will Hold Annual Gala in River Vale

(Courtesy of JFCS) On Sunday, November 17, Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey (JFCS) will be hosting its Annual Gala at 5:30 p.m. at the Edgewood Country Club in River Vale, New Jersey. With over 300 attendees expected, JFCS hopes to raise significant money to help fund the critical work they do within the Northern New Jersey community. Proceeds from this event help to provide services that empower people to transform their lives, including:

• mental health counseling for children, teens, adults, couples and families

• support for homebound seniors and people with disabilities through Kosher Meals- on-Wheels and case management

• emergency assistance, information and referrals, such as food pantries

This year, JFCS will be honoring leaders in Northern New Jersey who have made an impact in the community while fully understanding the mission of JFCS in helping our struggling neighbors. Those honorees include Diane Levine Seiden of Tenafly, New Jersey; Jamie Janoff and Beth Janoff Chananie of the Jewish Standard; and Hazzan Ilan Mamber, z”l, cantor of Temple Beth Rishon for over 30 years.

With deep roots in the Northern New Jersey Jewish community, Diane Seiden has been a loyal supporter of JFCS for over 20 years and a board member since 2005. Her profound understanding of the JFCS mission has driven Diane to devote her time and energy as a faithful leader of JFCS.

For more than 80 years, the Jewish Standard has been integral to the growth and development of the Jewish community in Northern New Jersey. Jamie, the publisher, and his sister, Beth, its community editor, have a lifelong connection to the paper. They both are strong advocates of JFCS and embrace its vital role.

Ilan Mamber was embedded in the Northern New Jersey community as the beloved hazzan at Temple Beth Rishon. With a master’s of social work and a passion for music, Ilan collaborated with JFCS to help transform many lives. May his memory be a blessing.

“We are so grateful to honor four incredible people this year. Not only have they supported JFCS through generous donations, but they have greatly impacted our organization by referring clients and volunteering their precious time,” said Susan Greenbaum, chief executive officer of JFCS. “We look forward to celebrating their contributions on November 17.”
