Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey held its second annual iCAN Answer Now Teen Conference, which provided a platform for teens to explore their Jewish identity and their personal connection to Israel. During our one-day conference, over 150 high school students attended from more than 25 high schools from the New Jersey area, including students from Jewish day schools, public schools and private schools. This conference prepared teens with the knowledge and confidence to converse constructively on Jewish and Israel-related topics. Included in our day was a separate parent program informing parents of all ages about what their Jewish child and student may face on college campuses. The conference concluded with our modern-day “Israeli Shuk” market for teens and parents to enjoy delicious Israeli food while meeting representatives from campus organizations. The day’s programming was created and produced by iCAN Conference Chair and board of trustees member Donna Weintraub, and Jewish Community Relations Committee Director Ariella Noveck.
