(Courtesy of JFSCNJ) Jewish Family Service of Central New Jersey is grateful to two special groups who came to volunteer on Sunday, May 19. JFSCNJ’s monthly Sunday Food Pantry volunteer group came to distribute food packages in the morning, while Congregation Israel’s (Springfield) Yom Chesed (Day of Good Deeds) members worked in the JFSCNJ garden. Spearheaded by Yom Chesed Co-Chairs Chana Horowitz and Miryam Smilow and JFSCNJ Board Member Dr. David and Yaffa Hoffman, the group of Congregation Israel members worked with JFSCNJ Garden Coordinator Tre Lanier to help plant flowers and vegetable garden beds.
