Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

To unite the school around common language and goals in middot skills, JKHA early childhood and lower school created a new program #MiddotMatter, dedicated to motivating positive personal development. Each month, students will focus on a new middah, introduced by a funny video. Teachers reinforce these behaviors in the classroom and students can earn a special bracelet specific to each middah. Watch for those arms to fill up and positive middot spread everywhere!

This year’s Middot Matter program builds on the last year’s theme of the year for JKHA early childhood and lower school which focused on building independence and the development of middot. Each month, the entire division gathered together to celebrate the successes of the previous month and to introduce a new middah, teaching key life skills. Middot covered last year included saying hi, selicha and todah, focusing on “what’s the question” and “WAM—wait a minute,” before speaking.
