It was a beautiful way to usher out Shabbat as JKHA Lower School children and their families, along with JKHA faculty and administration, joined together as a school community for a meaningful havdala program on Motzei Shabbat. Everyone sat together for an enthusiastic kumsitz followed by havdala and ruach-filled dancing. The evening continued with a melave malka for parents and a fun bubble show for the students.

Students have been preparing and learning about the the mitzvah and the songs of havdala in their classrooms and they enjoyed being able to participate in the mitzvah all together. Several days before the program, first and second graders were treated to a special program with Living Legacy’s Rabbi Yisroel Rosenblum. Students learned about the components of havdala and were able to make their own b’samim and candles.
