JKHA Lower School Enjoys Activities for 100th Day of School

JKHA early childhood and lower school marked the 100th day of school last week. The grades celebrated the day with a variety of learning opportunities. Second graders were divided into groups and rotated through eight stations that cover a variety of their subject areas. Each station represented a subject area that the students learn throughout the year. Writing: What was your favorite thing you learned in the first hundred days of school? Math: How many different math equations can students make that total 100? Graph to 100. Social Studies: What was life like 100 years ago and what will life be like in 100 years? Science: Predict and hypothesize how many droplets of water would fill the cup. STEM: Build something using 100 Lego pieces.

Even gym joined in on the all encompassing 100th day fun as students were challenged with how many jumping jacks can they do in 100 seconds? How many times can you clap? Art projects included using a 1 and 0 and 0 to create a masterpiece.

Other grades held 100th day dance parties, learned to graph with the number 100, make bundles of 100s, even had a 100th day-themed snack activity as they created the number 100 out of their snacks—and some pretzel sticks!
