JKHA Middle School Students Create Annual Haggadah

The Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy Middle School recently published its annual haggadah. With Divrei Torah from faculty and more than 100 students from 6th-8th grade. The Middle School Haggadah is user friendly with diverse commentary on all parts of the seder. Year after year students refer to the haggadah as the highlight of their seder as they are always proud and excited to use the personalized haggadah that they created together with their friends.

Rabbi Eliezer Rubin, Head of School, writes in the haggadah, “finding their voices around the seder table will enable children to create meaning by embracing the symbols and substance of Judaism.” A haggadah created by the students themselves is the perfect way to give children this voice.

Batsheva Dattelkramer, the middle school student who designed the artwork on the haggadah cover, commented, “getting to draw the cover for the haggadah helped me look deeper into the meaning of Pesach in our era.”

The haggadah is available for download at jkha.org.
