JKHA Students Code Book Chapters

As part of a language arts/educational technology collaboration, each third-grade student had a chance to present an interactive chapter of “Charlotte’s Web” as a culmination of their study of the book. Students created the chapter using ScratchJr, an introductory programming language that enables children to create their own interactive stories and games. They were able to summarize the chapter, make characters talk to each other and even move. The students presented their chapter to the class via the promethean board. Students loved seeing the story of “Charlotte’s Web” come to life through their work.
