JKHA Students Honor Veterans

On Veteran’s Day, after learning about some of the freedoms we have in our country, JKHA early childhood and lower school students learned about the people in the armed forces in the U.S. that help us obtain and maintain those freedoms. Students learned what a veteran is, and the different divisions of the U.S. Armed Forces. The students in several lower school classes wrote letters of gratitude thanking those in the military for their service to our nation that will be sent to them through an organization called Operation Gratitude. Students in kindergarten chose the freedom that they are most thankful for, wrote about it and drew a picture to illustrate it. Twin first graders were so excited to share a photo of their father who served in the armed forces as well as a special siddur that he received when he was serving. A second grade student was proud to share his great grandfather’s medal of service from World War II.
