Sharon Mark Cohen, a contributor to The Jewish Link of New Jersey, and Arnold Shep Cohen of South Orange have announced the engagement of their son, Judd E. Cohen, to Dena S. Balk, the daughter of Mitchell Balk and Sheila Radman Balk, z”l. Dena is the granddaughter of Rita and Edward Balk of St. Louis. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and psychology from Case Western Reserve University and her Master of Science in social administration from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case. She works as the program coordinator for the Bellefaire JCB Homeless and Missing Youth Program in Cleveland. Judd graduated from Columbia High School in Maplewood. The recipient of a merit scholarship, he earned a Bachelor of Science in business management with a specialization in finance from Case Western Reserve University. In May 2017, he graduated magna cum laude from Case Western Reserve University School of Law with three academic awards. Judd’s award-winning Note will be published in the Case Western Reserve Journal of International Law Summer 2017. The couple met at a Friday night Hillel event at Case Western Reserve University. A wedding is planned for November 2017.
